It’s no secret that the term ‘Superfood’ has gained vast popularity in the media. From smoothies to salads, Superfoods are at the forefront of the human food chain trends of recent years and it shows no sign of fading as we enter this new decade.

There is a drive for people to live healthier, for longer, and as such people are taking positive steps to boosting their health and well-being through the foods that they eat. They are taking a much closer look at the ingredients that are listed on packaging and by researching online they are making more informed choices about what they eat and what they want to consume.

This trend is mirrored in the pet food market with owners taking the health and well-being of their pets more seriously than ever before.

The new Superfood 65 recipes provide a recipe containing more total and fresh animal protein than any other Austonley product and contain a blend of 5 Superfoods each with specific benefits for their pet.

WHY BEEF?

Using a unique process we have created a recipe that boasts 65% Beef with a minimum 35% Freshly Prepared Beef.

How do Angus Beef and regular Beef differ?

A common question amongst meat lovers is what is the difference between Angus Beef and regular beef. Firstly Angus Beef is sourced from a singular breed, while regular beef can be sourced from various breeds. There is also a difference in taste between the two different types of meats.

Angus Beef is classified as a higher quality product than regular beef due to increased marbling (the amount of intramuscular fat). Good marbling means fat is dispersed thinly and evenly throughout the meat, ensuring consistent texture, juiciness and flavour. Angus beef is also lower in saturated fat, rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals and shrinks less during the cooking process.

How does Angus Beef benefit dogs?

Angus beef has a range of benefits to dogs. It is an extremely palatable and highly digestible protein source. A great source of iron and zinc, which is essential for growth metabolism, whilst also containing B12 vitamins to help the nervous system, brain function and growth of blood cells. Due to Angus Cattle producing marbled meat, this type of meat contains Omega-3 fatty acids that contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of a dog.
